The DreamWorks Animation Park will cover five million square feet and is to open its doors in 2012, people planning future holidays to Dubai may be interested to hear.
It is one of six theme parks that will be built in the city as part of the Dubailand project managed by property developer Tatweer.
Others include a Tiger Woods golf theme park and a Universal Studios attraction.
Tatweer’s chief executive Khalid al-Malik said: “The diversification of Dubai means that it is in a much better place than others to succeed.”
He added that the firm has had success with its other ventures, including the Dubai Marina and Arabian Ranches.
DreamWorks develops, produces and distributes films, video games and television programmes. It has produced or distributed more than ten films with box-office grosses totalling more than $100 million (£50 million) each.
One of its most successful films to date is Shrek 2.
