Bangkok’s Peninsula Hotel has broken into a list of the top ten hotels in the world, as chosen by the readers of Travel and Leisure magazine.
Its top-ten placing represents a dramatic increase from 2009, when the hotel in the Thai capital was ranked 66th.
The five-star venue has views looking across both the Chao Phraya River and Bangkok itself and features two restaurants, as well as other bars and cafes.
In addition, guests can take advantage of the Peninsula Spa, which is run by Espa and offers holistic massages, body treatments and facials
Thailand itself also saw success in the reader survey, with Bangkok and Chiang Mai coming first and second respectively in the list of the world’s top five cities.
