There is to be an increase in flights to Thailand over the winter months as AirAsia provides more low-cost services to the region.
AirAsia will offer four weekly flights between Bangkok and Surabaya starting in November. The airline is also increasing flights from Phuket to Bali – a route that will link two of Asia’s main holiday destinations.
Other airlines are also increasing their flights to Thailand from Indonesia. Garuda is now offering a daily flight to Bangkok from Jakarta, which could be ideal for UK travellers exploring the region.
“We still consider adding more frequencies to Thailand. We of course consider a route such as Bali-Bangkok but we still need to be sure that it will not be a one-way market only,” explained Bambang Sunan, general manager Garuda for Thailand and Indochina.
Thai Airways has also increased its flights to Bangkok from Jakarta and Bali and now provides ten and 11 weekly services to the destinations respectively.
Meanwhile, Leicester City football club have enjoyed their recent trip to Thailand with a 2-0 win over the country’s national team.
