A new regional service is now available for those taking flights to Sydney Airport.Brindabella Airlines is launching a new route from Sydney to Cobar which will initially be part of a four month trial to assess the popularity of the 90 minute service.

The chief executive officer of Sydney Airport, Russell Balding, welcomed the new route, which has been developed as a partnership between Brindabella Airlines, Cobar Shire council, Peak Gold Mines, Endeavour Mine and Cobar Management.

Mr Balding added: “As well as benefiting industry and government agencies the new service will also make it easier for people to visit Outback NSW…important to the development of regional tourism.”

There are now six regional airlines offering services from Sydney airport to domestic destinations including a recently introduced flight, operated by Aeropelican, from Sydney Airport to the Snowy Mountains (Cooma).

Brindabella Airlines currently operates 150 flights per week to destinations across Australia including Canberra, Albury, Newcastle, Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour and Brisbane.
