Australia’s newest airline is now offering regular flights to Phuket from Melbourne.
Using an Airbus A330, Strategic Airlines is hoping to increase the options for both local and international travellers.
“Over the past 12 months we have been growing our services within Queensland and Western Australia and Melbourne is our third Australian hub,” explained Michael James, Strategic Airlines founder.
“Our first route is Melbourne direct to Phuket and we have been encouraged by very strong demand,” he added.
Mr James also stressed that the airline had taken the approach of providing an “all inclusive” fare pricing system for passengers, so that there would be no additional charges to cover baggage or food and drink sold in-flight.
The Brisbane-based carrier will initially offer the flights twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays, with a total of 274 seats in both business and economy class.
