The Melbourne Art Festival is set to take place this weekend.
The Melbourne Art Festival is poised to begin this weekend in the city’s historic downtown region.
Held across both April 28th and 29th, the free event has been made with the family in mind so there will be a host of things for people of all ages to do.
The event will begin with the 5K Flamingo Run at 07:30 local time, with more than 1,700 people signed up to take part and raise funds for artistic activities around the area.
This will be followed by the main event, with 250 artists poised to set up stalls offering everything from art shows and competitions, through to workshops and special activities for kids.
For people with young children there is the KidsWorld event, which will offer a host of hands-on activities that are perfect for youngsters aged between three and 12 years old.
The event also raises money to help fund high school students who want to go on to study the arts as it provides college scholarships each year.
