New South Wales tourism secured by four-year fund
The government of New South Wales (NSW) in Australia has been given a funding boost.
This week, the state’s minister for tourism and major events George Souris said that Destination NSW will receive AU $125 million (£80 million) from the government each year for the next four years.
He said it represented the government’s “determination to help rebuild the NSW economy by supporting tourism, business and major events.”
“This … will generate and support thousands of jobs and help NSW realise its full potential as Australia’s number one tourism and event destination,” he added.
NSW is located in south east Australia and is home to the lively city of Sydney, with its world famous surfing destination Bondi Beach and spectacular architecture including the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
