Sports fans jetting off on cheap flights to Bangkok this week have the chance to enjoy the action from the Snooker World Cup.

The tournament, which got underway on Monday (July 11th) and runs until Sunday, sees some of the biggest names in the game turning out for their respective countries.

Among the stars taking part are Mark Williams and Matthew Stevens from Wales, Australia’s Neil Robertson and Steve Mifsud, and John Higgins and Stephen Maguire from Scotland.

Ken Doherty, Tony Drago and Marcu Fu are just some of the other stars set to grace the baize at the Snooker World Cup.

On the opening day, Brazil beat Belgium, Thailand 1 saw off Afghanistan and the Republic of Ireland crashed to defeat at the hands of Pakistan, with each of these matches finishing 3-2.

Some $700,000 (£436,000) in prize money is up for grabs at the tournament, with the overall winners set to pocket $200,000.
