Among the world’s top ten air carriers are Singapore Airlines, Etihad and Qatar, it has been asserted.
Singapore Airlines, Qatar and Etihad have been voted as some of the best in the world, it has emerged.
Claiming the top spot in Wanderlust travel magazine’s list of the top worldwide carriers of 2009 is Singapore Airlines, followed by the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, Etihad.
Ranking third was Air New Zealand, while Qatar claimed the fourth spot.
Other airlines to feature in Wanderlust’s world’s ten best are Emirates, Thai Airways, the Chinese operator EVA Air and Swiss International.
“The final positions were based on an average score for the entry, converted to a percentage, so the results are based on satisfaction rather than the number of votes received,” the website notes.
This is not the first piece of good for news Singapore Airlines in recent months. In July, the airline was praised for its economy dining experience, which, claimed Chris Haslam of the Sunday Times, is “specifically constructed to suggest dinner in a posh restaurant”.
