Passengers booking flights to Australia, India, Dubai and other destinations with Singapore Airlines, Emirates or Virgin Atlantic may be pleasantly surprised by the food on offer for economy passengers, according to a travel writer.
“Fly with Singapore Airlines, Emirates or Cathay Pacific and the economy dining experience is specifically constructed to suggest dinner in a posh restaurant,” said Chris Haslam, reporting for the Sunday Times.
Singapore Airlines came second in a list of best economy airline meals, where the main course of slow-cooked beef blade accompanied by a rosemary sauce was described as “delicious”.
In third place was Emirates, which served roasted vegetables, cream polenta and fillet steak with whipped parmesan.
And in fourth place was Virgin Atlantic, whose chocolate Gu pudding was called “awesomely moresome”.
