International carriers like Malaysia Airlines and Singapore Airlines have started operating day time flights from India in a bid to tempt business flyers. Other carriers like Air India and Jet airways are also trying to keep a similar flight schedules.
In an attempt to lure corporate and business flyers, different carriers offering flights to key global destinations from India have started scheduling their flight timings as per the convenience and business engagements of these flyers.
Malaysia Airlines has become the latest carrier to have started daytime flight services from India. The carriers will add three additional day flights to its already existing flight frequency which is seven flights per week from Mumbai, revealed online sources.
The management at Malaysia Airlines (MAS) believes that the three new flights will offer greater flexibility and will cater to the need of corporate flyers so that they can reach their intended destination on time for their business meetings, seminars or conferences.
Besides Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines will also add two more flights to its current flight schedule which is 19 flights weekly from India’s financial hub, Mumbai, with effect from October 23, 2012.
Like Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines is also eyeing the Southeast Asian country’s burgeoning economy. In its endeavour to tap the corporate sector, the carrier is mulling over the idea to start more daytime flights from India to offer travel comfort to the increasing number of corporate flyers.
It is believed that early morning and day time flights are more convenient for business flyers as they can leave early for their intended destinations and return the same evening.
Besides MAS and SIA, flight operators like India’s flag carrier, Air India and Jet airways are also hoping to get a share of the pie by maintaining similar flight schedules.
