Aeromexico Launches Mexico City-London Flights

Travellers looking to make tickets reservations on flights from London Heathrow to Mexico City will now have one more option to choose from as Aeromexico starts its new flights services on the route. The carrier is offering three flights a week.

The airline is operating the flights using a Boeing 767 equipped with angled lie-flat business class seats for premium class tickets buyers. Passengers on the inaugural flight (that was launched earlier in the month) were greeted by a traditional Mariachi band and offered souvenirs by the carrier.

Keen flyers can book tickets on flights scheduled to depart Mexico City on Sunday, Wednesday and Friday at 2220, landing at the Heathrow at 1500 the following day. For the return journey, tickets are offered on flights that would leave London on Monday, Thursday and Saturday at 1725, landing in Mexico City at 0035.

“Our new flight to Heathrow is a great achievement for Aeromexico and represents clear evidence of the development of the Mexican airline industry”, Andres Conesa, the airline’s Chief Executive Officer was quoted as saying in a press release of Heathrow Airport.

News reports also hint at the possibility of the carrier increasing its flights on the Mexico City-Heathrow route to make it a daily service, providing added alternatives to tickets seekers. The inclusion of the state-of-the-art B787 Dreamliner in the operator’s fleet of aircraft, that is going to happen in August 2013, will surely offer the push required to make the frequency daily.

The flag carrier of Mexico’s network comprises over 600 daily flights to 45 cities in Mexico, as well as international destinations in the United States, Canada, Central and South America.
