A recent event in Delhi should not deter people from travelling to India, claims the country’s tourist ministry.
India’s minister for tourism has condemned the incident and stressed that it should not deter visitors from booking flights to India, especially ahead of the forthcoming Commonwealth Games.
The minister went on to appeal to tourists and the tourism industry, asking them not to panic by such “stray incidents” and that the “safe destination and safety and security of tourists is utmost concern of the government”.
England is sending a team of 371 athletes to compete in this year’s Commonwealth Games. The first event featuring an English interest will take place on the morning of October 4th with double Olympic champion Rebecca Adlington appearing in the swimming heats.
