Ab Meri Baari will see a team of volunteers collecting unused items to be sent to rural Indian villages.
Travellers who have taken cheap flights to Delhi could attend Ab Meri Baari this weekend, when volunteers will be collecting items to be redistributed to villages in rural areas of India.
The social contribution drive is taking place in various places across the city from July 29th to 31st, including Delhi Public School.
According to Buzz in Town, Ab Meri Baari is all about collecting items that can be used by underprivileged children and adults.
“A lot is always spoken and written about but very few measures are taken at the ground level to make the transformation. To address this cause at the community level, this initiative is being organised,” the website added.
Clothing, footwear, paper, utensils, furniture and books are among the things being asked for by the organisers.
India is the seventh largest country in the world in terms of geographic area and the second most populous, with over 1.2 billion living there.
