Effective 15 January 2014, India’s private carrier Jet Airways will launch two daily flights from Kochi and Chennai to Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The move will enhance the airline’s presence in the Gulf, significantly.

Indian carrier, Jet Airways has made an announcement that it will offer two daily flights from Kochi and Chennai (India) to Dammam in Saudi Arabia from January 15, 2014. While Chennai flights will be routed via Abu Dhabi, the Kochi one will be direct, offering seamless connectivity those booking tickets.

With these new additions, Jet Airways will become India’s first private carrier to offer tickets on 50 daily flights to different destinations in the Gulf. This number includes daily flights to Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dubai, Doha, Kuwait, Sharjah, Jeddah, Dammam and Riyadh.

Jet Airways’ flight 9W 570 will take off from Kochi at 0620 hrs and land at Dammam at 0920 hours (local time). For the return service, fliers will be able to book tickets for flight 9W 569 that is set to depart one of the largest cities of Saudi Arabia at 1020 hours (LT) and land at Chennai at 1720 hours.

For Chennai-Dammam, the daily flight 9W 526 will take off at 2015 hours and arrive at Abu Dhabi at 2325 hrs. Passengers holding tickets will then depart the emirate at 01:45 and arrive in Dammam at 02:10. For travellers who wish to book tickets for the return leg, 9W 525 will leave the capital of the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia at 0650 hours and land at Abu Dhabi airport at 0915 hrs (LT). Continuing with its journey to India, the flight will take off from the UAE capital at 1045 hours to arrive at Chennai at 1615 hrs (LT).

These services will allow patrons from Chennai, India to not only connect to the UAE capital but also to various cities in Europe and Africa as they transit over the emirate on interline and code share flights operated by Jet’s partner carriers.

The Indian carrier is looking to deploy the Boeing 737-800 aircraft on both these two new services. Customers will be able to book tickets for the airline’s premiere and economy class.
