Etihad Airways is planning to launch its first Airbus A380 flight to London in December, 2014. Along with A380, the airline will receive B787 Dreamliner. The carrier will have both aircraft equipped with bedroom suites.
Etihad Airways, Abu Dhabi-based airline, will launch its first Airbus A380 on flights to London. The development is scheduled to take place in December when the Gulf carrier takes delivery of the massive aircraft along with Boeing 787. Both aircraft will be equipped with bedroom suites.
The A380 will feature nine fully private suites called First Apartments, with a separate seat and bed. The Lobby, with a serviced lounge and bar area, is for relaxation and is accessible to passengers with First and Business Class tickets. The Lobby is located between the First and Business cabins, Etihad Airways’ President, James Hogan wrote in the company’s flight bulletin.
B787 Dreamliner will be equipped with eight new First Suites that are likely to be fitted with a larger personal monitor, electrically adjustable ottoman and a refreshing mini-bar.
The list of facilities and amenities available to travellers booking tickets on A380 flights shall really be inexhaustible! For the A380, the airline has built “The Residence by Etihad”, an upper-deck cabin for one or two guests with a living room, separate double bedroom, en suite shower room as well as a personal butler.
On both the A380 and the Dreamliner, passengers will locate new Business Studios, offering more comfort to travellers buying air tickets by providing an increase of 20 per cent in personal space. A new fully lie-flat seat, stretchable to 97 inches, will be provided.
Plans are already in place as to where the new aircraft will be plied on.
“The first Etihad Airways A380 will serve London Heathrow from December 2014 and a second A380 will operate on the same route from the first quarter of 2015…by end- 2015, Etihad Airways will have five A380s in operation, with plans to also serve Sydney and New York,” Hogan said.
James Hogan made it clear that Boeing 787 Dreamliner flights would be first available between Abu Dhabi and Düsseldorf in December while flights to Washington and Mumbai would start in January 2015.
Etihad Airways is starting flights to Los Angeles and Zurich in June, 2014. Further, new flights to Yerevan, Rome and Perth will be offered in July, offering increased alternatives to travellers seeking air tickets on the routes. The carrier is also slated to offer flights to Phuket, Thailand in October, and Dallas in December, giving an opportunity to patrons of Etihad Airways to buy tickets on the popular routes with their favourite carrier.
