Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has announced its intention to start direct flights to Los Angeles, California. The airline will be offering tickets on daily flights between Abu Dhabi and Los Angeles. The services will start from June 1, 2014, subject to regulatory approvals.

Los Angeles will be Etihad’s fourth destination in the USA. Currently, the Abu Dhabi based carrier is providing air tickets on flights to Chicago, New York and Washington D.C.

In terms of flight frequency, Etihad Airways will be providing 28 return flights each week between the UAE and USA.

The service, once operational, will increase Etihad’s operations in the USA market significantly. New flights will aptly cater to the rising demand of leisure and business travellers who wish tickets to travel to LA from UAE. Los Angeles is major tourist hub and is renowned to attract travellers focused on business, international trade, entertainment, culture, media, fashion, science and sports.

The flights will additionally offer maximum connectivity, via Abu Dhabi, to destinations across the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent.

Flights will be configured to transport 237 guests, with 8 Diamond First Class suites, 40 Pearl Business Class flatbed seats, and 189 Coral Economy Class seats for those who prefer lesser expensive air tickets.

The schedule of the yet to be operational daily flights is as follows:

Flight EY171 will take off each day from Abu Dhabi at 8.45am and land in Los Angeles at 2.15pm the same day. The return flight, EY170, will leave LA at 4.15pm and arrive at the UAE capital at 7.35pm, the next day.
