Egypt could be a good option for people who are planning to take a cost effective winter sun break this year.
Travellers looking for an affordable trip to the sunshine this winter could find that booking cheap flights to Egypt offers them with one of the best deals available.
Assessing the best locations to take a holiday to in the coming months for those who want to save their pennies, the Post Office listed Egypt as one of its most affordable locations.
It noted that although the country had a difficult start to the year it has recovered well and is still popular with holidaymakers.
The strength of the British pound is also making a trip there more attractive, as it is up 4.9 per cent on the Egyptian pound at the same time last year.
Sarah Munro, Post Office head of travel money, said: “Sterling may have fared better in the worldwide market than in Europe but we advise people planning winter sun trips to consider the whole picture and not just the package price.”
An attraction which could appeal to people on cheap flights to Egypt is a desert safari, which takes in some of the country’s amazing archaeological sites.
