According to research carried out by Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), occupancy rates for the country’s five-star hotels located on beach fronts hit 97 per cent during the second week of August.
This represents a seven per cent rise compared to the previous week, suggesting that those who have bought cheap flights to Dubai may be splashing their funds on comfort and luxury.
According to the statistics, 3.9 million international travellers visited Dubai during the first six months of 2009 – a rise of five per cent compared to the first half of 2008.
The DTCM believes that the increase in people taking holidays in Dubai is down factors such as recent promotional campaigns and a kids go free summer offer.
Another attraction that could be tempting to those with cheap flights to Dubai is the newly-opened Sega Republic indoor theme park, which features computer game-themed fun for all ages.
