Flights to Dubai could satisfy shopaholics with the chance to visit the “world’s first shopping resort”, Mall of the Emirates.

Flights to Dubai could satisfy shopaholics with the chance to visit the “world’s first shopping resort”, Mall of the Emirates.

The venue reveals that visitor numbers are up since the start of the annual Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) season.

Vice-president for Mall of the Emirates Fuad Sharaf says: “The footfall figure in the 32-day period since DSS started has reached over 2.7 million.

“We are extremely pleased with this overall performance.”

However, it is not only the shopping for which people stepping off of flights to Dubai might wish to head to the mall.

It is also currently hosting a stage production of Disney’s High School Musical 2 that it says is finding favour with families and fans of musical theatre.

Meanwhile, the shopping resort was given cause to celebrate in June as it beat 68 other retail parks and four finalists to secure the title of Best Shopping Mall in Dubai.
