Smartphone users can now get a mobile boarding pass from Emirates.

Passengers checking in on flights to Dubai can now get a more convenient boarding pass, as luxury airline Emirates has launched a new mobile service.

Smartphone users can enjoy a paperless travel experience, by downloading a mobile boarding pass after checking in online up to 24 hours in advance of their flight.

Mohammed H Mattar, senior vice president of airport services at Emirates, said: “The mobile boarding pass puts flexibility and control completely in the hands of our customers, while making a small step towards reducing our environmental impact.”

The barcode boarding pass can be read at all check-in counters, airport security and immigration check points, as well as the Emirates First Class and Business Class lounges.

Options available to Emirates passengers with internet-enabled phones now include booking and managing a flight, mobile check-in, searching flight schedules and status and even checking the in-flight amenities available on a specific flight.
