The new green metro line in Dubai is to open for the first time in September.
People on flights to Dubai next month could find it is even easier to navigate around the emirate as its green metro line is to open.
The new line, which will include a further 18 stops and add an additional 23 km of track to the existing network, will be available from September 9th 2011, the Roads and Transport Authority has announced.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum will officially open the network, which will allow passengers to switch to the red line at Union and Khalid bin Al Waleed stations.
It has been predicted that once the line has opened, the number of people making journeys on the metro system each day will increase from the current figure of 190,000 to 250,000.
Travellers heading on flights to Dubai with United Continental could soon be enjoying a more luxurious experience, as the airline has announced plans to introduce flat seats and more in-flight entertainment.
