Dubai is preparing to host the Mission: Impossible (MI4) shoot, with officials meeting the film’s director and cast members.Ahmed Abdullah Al Sheikh, director-general of the Dubai government media office, met with leading man Tom Cruise and director Brad Bird plus a number of senior cast, crew and officials from Paramount.

It is expected that around 400 people will travel to Dubai to shoot some of the movie’s scenes. Filming is expected to last around three weeks and could see some Tom Cruise fans taking flights to Dubai to attempt to catch a glimpse of the star.

Jamal Al Sharif, director of Dubai Studio City, also attended the crucial MI4 meeting that was held in Prague and explained the emirate makes an ideal location for movies.

“Dubai’s state-of-the-art infrastructure and its various attractions distinguish it from other cities. Add to this a series of specific initiatives adopted by Dubai in the past ten years to enhance its filmmaking industry. This has helped it consolidate its position as the new hub for film in the region,” he said.

The latest Mission Impossible instalment will star Tom Cruise alongside Jeremy Renner and Josh Holloway.
