The iconic Australian landmark has been selected as one of the most romantic places to watch the sunset in the world.
Anyone who is booking flights to Australia to have a holiday with a loved one should consider travelling into the Northern Territory for a romantic evening.
Uluru, one of Australia’s best-known landmarks, has been named as one of the most romantic places in the world from which to watch the sun go down.
Travel+Leisure magazine put the attraction in its top ten, along with locations such as Mount Haleakala in Hawaii and Accademia Bridge in Venice.
Steve Strike, a photographer based in the Northern Territory, told the publication that one of the best vantage points from which to watch the sunset is a picnic area within the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park known as Sunset Strip.
He also advised visiting between May and October to see the most vibrant colours of the rock.
In October last year, a new dawn-viewing platform opened at Uluru – which is also known as Ayers Rock – to allow tourists to see the spectacle from a different perspective.
