Some of the UK’s biggest names will be among those taking part in next year’s Tasting Australia event.

People on cheap flights to Australia next year could be planning to add a visit to an international culinary event into their itinerary.

Some of the UK’s biggest names will be showing off their skills at the Tasting Australia festival, which kicks off in Adelaide on April 26th 2012.

Running until May 3rd, experts who will be making the trip from the UK include Mark Hix of the Oyster and Chop House and contestant on the Great British Menu and Richard Fox, who is known as the beer chef for his love of cooking and brewing.

“Tasting Australia is the most significant food and wine festival of its kind in the Asia Pacific region, showcasing the very best Australia has to offer in terms of food, wine, beer and the culinary arts,” the organisers stated.

People travelling on cheap flights to Australia to spend time in Perth could find that there are lots of new hotels in the region after it was announced it needs an extra 300 rooms a year to keep up with demand.
