Qantas has announced that it will boost its frequency of flights from Sydney to Dallas/ Fort Worth (DFW) from four times per week to daily by July 2012. The airline also announced promotional airfares on the route.

Qantas Airways is all set to expand its frequency of flight services between Sydney and Dallas/ Fort Worth (DFW) to a daily by July 2012. At present, the flag carrier of Australia serves Dallas/ Fort Worth International Airport four times in a week.

As per the airline’s announcement, the frequency of the flights on the route will increase to six services per week on 15 January 2012 and will further augment to seven per week on 1 July 2012.

Jeff Fegan, CEO of DFW International Airport was excited to hear the news and emphasised on the airport’s blossoming partnership with the Australian carrier.

“We are very pleased with the great news that Qantas has increased its commitment to the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and that our airport is proving to be a valuable partner for expansion,” he was quoted by different news portals as stating.

“Qantas is adding a significant amount of capacity here at DFW, showing that our airport is a world-class connection point convenient to virtually any major city on the globe,” he added.

DFW is confident that Qantas’ standing as an oneworld alliance partner of American Airlines is going to benefit heaps of passengers as they will get inundated with a multitude of code share options. The two airlines have been rewarded with an ACCC approval for a joint business agreement that will result in lower fares, better connections and other advantages for passengers travelling between the United States and Australia/New Zealand.

Travellers will have at their disposal a plethora of connection options on either end of the route. This will definitely make travel between North America and Australia more convenient. This will also work for budget travellers who look for cheap flight tickets as they can opt for the cheapest option available to them.

Qantas Airways also announced a special fare sale on the route that will be available till 10th October and will be good for travel between 15th January and 31st August 2012. Travellers seeking cheap flight tickets can now surely hope to land up with cheap airfares on the route.

Qantas started its operations to DFW in May 2011, providing access to a range of destinations all across the United States through one of the country’s leading hub airports. The flight route is served by Boeing 747-400ER – a three-class aircraft.

Group Executive Qantas Airlines Commercial, Rob Gurney, said that flights to DFW had been very strong.

“We are delighted to be offering more frequent flights to Dallas/Fort Worth after the successful launch of the route,” Mr Gurney was quoted in a press release that was released yesterday by the company.

“This announcement is all about putting our gateway strategy into action and building a stronger Qantas International for our customers.

“As the only direct service from Australia beyond the US west coast, it gives Australians access to the country’s fourth-largest metropolitan economy and to Texas’ unique tourism experiences.

“And as a perfectly located hub airport less than four hours from every major US city, DFW offers outstanding onward connections for business and leisure travellers.

“Earlier this year we expanded our codeshare arrangement with American Airlines to include 59 destinations out of DFW and our JBA with American will further strengthen our relationship.

“With this significant capacity increase, we look forward to providing even more opportunities for mutual trade and tourism between the US and Australia,” Rob Gurney concluded.

As per DFW Airport estimates, Qantas’ daily operations, once underway, will have an economic impact up to the tune of $200 million annually.
