The event will feature more than 400 performances.
Cheap flights to Brisbane could be set for a surge in popularity during the city’s signature arts event.
The Brisbane Festival, scheduled to take place between September 3rd and 24th, was unveiled on Tuesday (July 5th) by Queensland premier Anna Bligh and arts minister Rachel Nolan.
Numerous Australian and world premieres are due to be held throughout the event, including the debut of Beautiful Noise, which will see performers climb the walls of the Brisbane Powerhouse while hip-hop acts take the stage below.
The production will run from September 5th to 10th, with tickets priced at AU$40 (£27) for adults and AU$32 for concessions.
In total, more than 400 performances are due to be staged over the three weeks of the festival.
Ms Bligh revealed more than 750,000 people are expected to attend the event for a glimpse of the cream of Australian and international creative talent.
“[The festival] celebrates the diversity, energy and optimism of our vibrant city,” she added.
