The installation will open at the Powerhouse Museum in November.
Harry Potter fans may be persuaded to book cheap flights to Sydney when a new exhibition dedicated to the blockbuster film franchise opens later this year.
Entitled Harry Potter: The Exhibition, the installation is due to launch at the Powerhouse Museum on November 19th and close in March 2012.
Having previously toured across North America, the display has won critical acclaim for its authentic presentation of the movie’s characters, imagery and stories.
According to arts, tourism and major events minister George Souris, some 350,000 visitors will flock to the Powerhouse to check out the installation, with 80,000 of them coming from outside of Sydney.
“This exhibition will extend the Potter magic spell, giving Sydneysiders and visitors the opportunity to see the costumes, the artefacts and the settings that people know so well,” he added.
Visitors can explore the museum every day from 10:00 to 17:00 local time, except during school holidays when it opens half an hour earlier.
