The most stylish racing event of the year in Australia has opened with the start of the Melbourne Cup.
Travellers taking flights to Melbourne could be planning to pack their suits or best dresses in order to attend this year’s Melbourne Cup.
The racing event has begun in the city and will see some of its most fashionable residents turn out to watch the famous races take place.
Highlights include the Emirates Melbourne Cup day on November 1st, with the Crown Oaks races taking place the following day.
The Crown Oaks day is also known as being ladies’ day at the event, so it could provide visitors with the perfect chance to spot some of the latest fashions, as well as see a performance by the Australian band The Potbelleez.
There will also be a host of fashion shows and events held across the day, which is sure to entertain those who do not care so much for the horse racing.
People taking flights to Melbourne soon could also decide to follow in the footsteps of the Queen on her recent visit to the city by taking a ride on one of its iconic trams.
