Dance Camera West Dance Film Festival (April 30th – May 5th, 2015)
The Dance Camera West Dance Film Festival is a celebration of different physical art forms. It’s a wonderful means of connecting with the city’s diverse cultures. This weeklong event is scheduled to hit the theatres of Santa Monica and Down Town LA with a host of events like artwork showcases, film screenings, dance on screen, family dance-along and more. Popular artists, including Merce Cunningham, Paris Opera Ballet, Marie Chounard, Jiri Kylian and William Forsythe, will be the star attractions this season.
Paris Photo Los Angeles (May 1st – 3rd, 2015)
The Los Angeles edition of Paris Photo is often famed as one of the most celebrated photographic art festivals in the world. With over 80 renowned exhibitors (including publishers and booksellers) – the festival is a must-attend for art connoisseurs. Held annually at Paramount Pictures Studios, this three-day festival is a perfect place to explore the beautiful blend of photography and moving images. The 2015 line-up includes exhibitions, seminars, live discussions and book signing events.
Echo Park Craft Fair (May 9th – 10th, 2015)
Celebrate your Mother’s Day weekend at Echo Park Craft Fair, a haven for talented designers and other artisans who wish to showcase their handmade creations to the world. The idea behind the setting up of the festival is ‘inclusiveness’, an element that’s reflected even in the inventory of things which are on sale here! You can shop for ceramic items, jewellery, clothing, fresh flowers, cold-pressed organic juices, concocted bath oils and natural beauty products.
Super Saturday LA (May 16th, 2015)
Hosted by Molly Sims & Scott Stuber and Rachel Zoe & Rodger Berman, Super Saturday is a daylong shopping event where fashion and beauty products, and home items are sold at 30% to 50% discount. The event aims at funding the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF) which is the largest U.S. charity funding research centre on ovarian cancer. Popular brands like Theory, Alice + Olivia, Vince, Diane von Furstenberg, Versace and Helmut Lang will be a part of the shopping festival.
CicLAvia (May 31st, 2015)
CicLAvia is a wonderful event that promotes the concept of car-free streets. The festival invites bicyclists, tricycle riders, and skateboarders not just from Los Angeles, but from across the world to enjoy car-free routes. The atmosphere is very lively with lots of pulsating music, colourful street performances and delicious food. Most rides of the event centre around Downtown, South LA, Wilshire Boulevard and Venice.
