A Look at the Teams, Venues and Schedule of IPL 2016

A couple of days ago, we witnessed the nail-biting conclusion of ICC World T20. However, the thrill of T20 cricket in 2016 doesn’t end here. IPL or Indian Premier League, the most-attended T20 league in the world, is commencing on 09^th April 2016. This is going to be the 09^th edition of this extravagant sporting event and Eden Gardens in Kolkata will host the inaugural as well as the final match of the Indian Premier League 2016.

Teams

This IPL will also feature eight teams including two new teams – Gujarat Lions and Rising Pune Supergiants. These two teams have replaced Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals. Participating teams are:

Players to Watch Out For

Virat Kohli: The captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore is the world’s number one batsman. He clinched the title of Man of the Series at the recently concluded World T20.

AB De Villiers: Another key player of Royal Challengers Bangalore, AB De Villiers has proved his mettle in many IPL matches with his bat as well as with his wicket-keeping skills.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni: The captain of the new IPL team Rising Pune Supergiants is considered the best captain as well as the best finisher in the cricketing world.

David Miller: Also named as Killer Miller, this South African batsman will captain King XI Punjab, the runner up of the 2014 edition of the Indian Premier League.

Carlos Brathwaite:  This West Indian batsman hit four consecutive sixes in the last over of the World T20 2016 final. In IPL 9, Braithwaite will play for Delhi Daredevils.     

Venues

As many as 60 matches will be played across 10 Indian cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune and Kolkata.
