Holidaymakers who are feeling energetic can sign up for next year’s Abu Dhabi triathlon.
Some of the world’s most talented amateur athletes could be planning to book flights to Abu Dhabi next year as the location is set to host its annual triathlon.
The Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), who organise the Abu Dhabi International Triathlon 2012, have announced that registration is now open for those who wish to take part.
Taking place on March 3rd 2012, the team behind the feat of endurance are hoping to have 2,100 competitors next year, up from the 1,500 who took part in 2011.
Our decision to expand the event’s capacity is in direct response to increased demand both internationally and locally with more than 1,000 athletes already pre-registered,” said Faisal Al Sheikh, events manager for the ADTA.
People who take Delta Airlines flights to Abu Dhabi to take part may want to toast their success on the way home by sampling some of the premium quality wines and spirits which are now available on the aircraft.
