Day 1

On day one, visit Cape Town’s iconic cultural and historical attractions with a guided township tour. Start at the Adderley Street, which is like a window to Cape Town’s troubled past. Visit the Castle of Good Hope, the oldest building in South Africa, to know how the city used to be in its early days. The grand Victorian City Hall and the beautiful art deco buildings are other attractions in the area you should not miss. Nearby, the Company’s Garden, a 17th century park, features spectacular bedding displays, water-bodies, scenic trails, and historical monuments. Tracing history at the District Six Museum is another enthralling experience. Packed with old but meticulously preserved texts and photos, the museum is a treasure trove of historical artefacts.

After spending the day in the pursuit of history and culture, head to the famous Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, South Africa’s oldest working harbour. Dotted with more than 100 restaurants, shops, and clubs, it’s a great hangout for locals and tourists alike. Buy some souvenirs at the Craft Market, drink and dine to your heart’s content, or take in the views of the colonial buildings, stretching from the bay to the Table Mountain – there is much to keep you happily occupied.

Day 2

Make an early start and head to the Boulder Beach to see South African Penguins frolicking on the shore! The tranquil beauty of the place is sure to leave an indelible imprint on your heart and mind. Amidst the massive boulders on the shore are a few natural swimming pools, where tourists can unwind.

The late afternoon is a perfect time to stroll around the picturesque beaches of Clifton. There are four beaches on the bay. The First Beach is preferred among the surfers. Second and Third beaches are popular among the young as well as the gay crowd. The Fourth Beach is a family-friendly attraction with its warm atmosphere and opportunities for exciting water sports.

In the evening, a trip to the majestic Table Mountain will treat you to sweeping views of the surrounding ocean and you may spot indigenous animal and plant species of South Africa. Watching the sunset from the summit is an experience you will cherish for a long time.
