Ballet performances to be staged at Australian resort

People with a passion for ballet could consider booking holidays to Australia in time for a special event on Hamilton Island.

People with a passion for ballet could consider booking holidays to Australia in time for a special event on Hamilton Island.

The Australian Ballet is to stage outdoor performances at the luxury Qualia resort – located on the northernmost tip of the island – from October 23rd to 25th and guests will have the opportunity to get involved.

Visitors will be able to watch the stars take their dance classes, mingle with the performers and even take part in a yoga class with the dancers on the last day.

Meanwhile, the performances themselves will involve pas de deux – dances involving two people – from popular shows including Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty.

David McAllister, artistic director of the Australian Ballet, said: “We can’t wait to perform a glittering show featuring some of the ballet’s most loved pas de deux under a star-studded sky.”

Hamilton Island is the second largest inhabited island of the Whitsunday Islands and is close to the east coast of Queensland.
