A local artist has been hailed as an “inspiration” to young students at the opening of a new exhibition in Dubai.
The Dubai art scene welcomed its latest opening this week, as Emirati artist Hassan Sharif welcomed school pupils and university students to his new exhibition.
Experiments and Objects showcases the 60-year-old’s work, spanning the past 31 years of his career, at the Qasr Al Hosn Cultural Quarter Hall, giving culture vultures another reason to book flights to Dubai.
Mr Sharif has worked tirelessly to promote contemporary artists in the UAE, culminating in the establishment of The Flying House institute in 2007.
Mohammed Khalaf al Mazrouei, the director general of the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage, which oversees the exhibition, called Mr Sharif “an inspiration”.
“Working closely with youngsters to develop, encourage and promote their talents will always be my commitment to the local arts scene,” the artist said.
The exhibition is open to the public from 10am to 10pm, seven days a week, until June 17th.
