Legendary football figure Diego Maradona has arrived in Dubai to begin his tenure with Al Wasl.

Holidaymakers heading out on cheap flights to Dubai in the near future will have the opportunity to see a football legend in action.

Diego Maradona, who recently managed his native Argentina in the World Cup, recently arrived in the city to take on a two-year coaching role at Al Wasl.

After touching down in a private terminal at Dubai International Airport, the 50-year-old was greeted by representatives of the club and its fans.

Maradona will now consult with officials at Al Wasl to decide on training plans and discuss the possibility of an additional foreign player joining the team.

As part of his tenure at the club, the Argentinean has already moved to secure Uruguay’s Juan Manuel Olivera, Chile’s Edson Puch and Omani player Mohammad Shaiba.

Maradona is a legendary figure in the world of football, with his ‘Hand of God’ incident going down as one of the most controversial moments in the sport.
