Abu Dhabi is set to create beaches especially for women’s enjoyment.

Abu Dhabi is to implement women only beaches.

The Gulf holiday destination which is famous for its great shopping experience and featured in the second Sex and the City movie will open the beaches to replace the popular Ras Al Akhdar coastline which was closed five years ago.

“There has been a long-time demand from ladies of the emirate for a ladies-only private beach and this is going to come up in Al Bateen by the end of the year or early next year,” Ms Al Maheiri, head of events and beaches at the state, told The National.

Although there has been no finalised opening date, construction – in true lavish United Arab Emirate style – has already begun.

There are a number of new waterfront expansion projects going on in the region.

As well as the all nationality, ladies-only beach, a new public all-access beach is currently being designed to be situated behind the Abu Dhabi Officers’ Club.
