Due to bad weather conditions in whole of the UK and specifically in London, British Airways has cancelled certain long haul as well as short haul flights from London Heathrow and London Gatwick Airports.
British Airways has come up with a rebooking and refund policy that has already been communicated to the travel agencies. Travellers whose flights are affected due to the bad weather can contact their travel agents who would be able to provide alternative options.
There are a couple of alternative options for stranded travellers. Rebooking on another British Airways flight at a later date is one choice. This facility is usually offered by airlines at no extra cost subject to the availability of seats. Often, under such circumstances, airlines either provide the option of rebooking or cancellation of the booking. In case of cancellation, the passengers usually get a full refund, which is processed using the same form of payment as was originally used by the traveller to make the payment for the booking.
The cancellation of British Airways flights has come as a bad news for travellers on the weekend right before Christmas.
