Travellers who are touching down on flights to Dubai this month may be interested in a photography exhibition being held in the city.

Anyone who has booked flights to Dubai later this month and would   like to see the emirate in a different light may want to consider attending the Sense of Sight exhibition.

Running until February 24th, the event showcases photographic works from seven local artists.

The medium of photography has been used by the creative group to highlight contrasts and show the effects of visual disturbance, using Dubai as the backdrop.

All of the installations are open to the public free of charge at the Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre’s (DUCTAC’s) Gallery of Light.

Prize money of AED10,000 (£1,743) is on offer to the picture deemed to be the best representation of visual disturbance, in a competition run in conjunction with Moorfields Eye Hospital.

Other events being run by the DUCTAC include theatrical performances, such as the play One Small Step, which tells some of the stories of space exploration through the years.
