Port Campbell National Park

Located in the south-western district of Victoria, Port Campbell National Park is a famous protected area in Australia. Established in 1964 in order to protect and preserve the limestone formations along the coastline, the park is famous for its collection of wave sculpted rock formations, Twelve Apostles and the Grotto. It is one of the best places to learn about old shipwrecks, thanks to the 19th century shipwreck ‘Loch Ard’. Southern emu, fairy wrens, ducks, black swans, penguins and dotterels are all found in the park.

Nambung National Park

Nambung National Park is one of the must visit tourist attractions in the country. Situated a couple of hundred kilometres from Perth, the park is known for its beautiful beaches and is home to over 100 animal species as well as birds, reptiles, and amphibians. Along with the wildlife, you will love the sight of thousands of pinnacles (sand pillars) rising up from the yellow sand with the Indian Ocean in the backdrop! Western grey kangaroo, red kangaroo, dingo, honey possum and red fox are among the wild animals that can be spotted here.

Daintree National Park

Deriving its name from an ancient river, Daintree National Park is a World Heritage Site. The rainforest is known for its exceptional biodiversity and supports a wide variety of plant and animal life. The park also has a prolific birdlife. Striped possum, brown bandicoot, long-nosed bandicoot, musky rat-kangaroo, swamp wallaby and platypus are some of the mammals that can be spotted here. Moreover, over 20 species of reptile and 13 species of amphibian can be found in the Daintree National Park.

Great Sandy National Park

Situated in the Fraser Coastal Region, Queensland, Great Sandy National Park is a famous coastal park in Australia. Featuring miles of untouched beaches, corals, mangroves, large sand dunes, swamps, freshwater lakes and creeks, this national park is home to a variety of marine animals and reptiles. Further, there are several species of birds, such as beach stone-curlews, green catbirds, regent bowerbirds, mangrove honeyeaters and pale-yellow robins that can spotted here.

Kosciuszko National Park

Lying in New South Wales and home to Australia’s highest peak, Mt. Kosciuszko, Kosciuszko National Park covers almost 700,000 hectares, making it the country’s largest national park. It is best known for the skiing and snowboarding opportunities at the famous resorts of Thredbo and Perisher Valley and others. You can opt to hop on the chairlift, Kosciuszko Express Chairlift, to admire the stunning views from the top of the mountain. From motels and inns to alpine lodges, the place has accommodation options for all.
