Nature never ceases to amaze us! It stands in front of us majestically in all its jaw-dropping beauty. There are certain travellers who explore different parts of the world just for this! They are passionate towards nature and do their best to cherish it. If you share the same feeling, you will love this article! Here, we’ll be focusing on five natural wonders of Thailand. Without beating about the bush, let’s get to know about them.

Natural-Wonders-of-Thailand

Thi Lo Su Waterfall

With a height of 820 ft and width of 1480 ft., the Thi Lo Su Waterfall is claimed to be the largest and highest waterfall of the Southeast Asian country. It comes from a stream flowing in a mountain called ‘Huai Klotho’. Thereafter, passing through large limestone rocks, it proceeds towards the Umphang Forest. Due to the presence of cascades, tourists can swim in the natural pools and even visit the spectacular caves situated behind the massive waterfall.

Khao Sok National Park

Khao Sok National Park has the largest virgin forests in Southern Thailand. It is home to many exotic animals such as Asian elephants, Malayan tapir, Asian black bear, sambar deer, and gibbons. The park is also popular for the giant Bua Phut (Rafflesia kerrii) – the representational flower of Surat Thani Province. There are two main areas of the park – the area behind the visitors centre and Cheow Lan Lake. Guided tours are available for all.

Tham Lot

A huge cave system that was once a place of habitation for pre-historic men, the Tham Lot allows tourists to travel back to a time when history was not precisely documented. Archaeologists have already discovered ancient clay pottery and carved wooden coffins inside the cave. There’s a brook that flows from the mouth of the cave to the other side of the mountain. Tham Lot is open to the public from 8 AM to 6 PM daily.

Doi Inthanon

Doi Inthanon, also known as ‘The Roof of Thailand’, rises to a height of 8415 feet above sea level. Quite unsurprisingly, it is the highest mountain of the country. Its peak experiences tropical and cool climate. On the main path of the summit, there are two Buddhist stupas named ‘Naphamethinidon’ and ‘Naphaphonphumisiri’. The surrounding areas of the mountain are designated as the ‘Doi Inthanon National Park’ – a true marvel in its own way.

Maenam Song Si

Located in Khong Chiam District, the Maenam Song Si is a two-coloured river formed uniquely by the fusion of the brown waters of Mekong River and the blue of Mun River. It’s the perfect place to enjoy sailing on multi-coloured waters. The visiting areas are open to the public from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM every day.
