A growing number of people on holidays to Thailand are booking holidays as they seek better value for money on their trips, it has been reported.

According to the Nation, people are still determined to get away to the south Asian country, but in ways that will not stretch their budget too far.

Malcolm O’Brien, head of traveller feedback at Lonely Planet Asia-Pacific, said: “Independent travellers are too addicted to travel to give up their plans entirely. But they might change destination, they might look for the best value, they might not go to places where prices are still higher.”

However, this is having other consequences, with many hotels slashing their prices in order to retain their competitive edge, so holidaymakers may be able to get a bargain if they look carefully, the news provider attested.

Earlier this month, the National Air Traffic Services released figures which showed that more people are choosing holidays to Thailand as opposed to America as the value of the pound slumps against the dollar.
