People going on holidays to South Africa should consider staying at the Grootbos Nature Reserve, it has been suggested.

Tania Cagnoni of the Telegraph writes that the resort is ideal for those who want to stay in the lap of luxury since it is a five-star, but that it also offers plenty of chance to see the reserve that tourists’ money helps to care for.

Activities include horse rides and guided nature walks, as well as a chance to participate in whale watching at Walkers Bay.

“Whether you come to see whales, relax by the pool, be at one with nature, or just to feel pampered, you won’t be disappointed,” Ms Cagnoni commented.

Grootbos has won a number of awards, including those for best hotel, best conservation and best for responsible tourism.

The reserve is situated in Gansbaai in the western Cape, which is serviced regularly by Virgin Atlantic flights and is particularly well known for being a good area to spot Great White sharks.
