Thinking of lots of activities before boarding a plane could help to keep kids entertained during the journey.
Parents planning on taking flights to South Africa and other locations with their children over the festive season could find that planning plenty of fun things to do in advance will make the journey more enjoyable.
Liat Hughes Joshi, parenting writer and author of Raising Children: The Primary Years and What to Buy for Your Baby, suggested the easy option for keeping children amused is to get them a handheld games console.
“For families tackling longer journeys by plane or train, I also recommend getting each child a rucksack and filling it with light and compact playthings,” Ms Hughes Joshi said.
She suggested that filling the bag with cheap toys like colouring books and travel board games can also work at keeping kids entertained.
There could be a lot of people taking flights to South Africa and other nations in the coming days, as ABTA – the travel association stated 4.25 million people will be jetting away during the festive season.
