The number of people taking flights to Abu Dhabi rose during November, with more than one million people departing at the international airport during the month.
In total, passenger numbers increased by 16 per cent across the month when compared to the same time in 2010, the Abu Dhabi Airports Company announced.
It was also noted as being the fifth consecutive month when the airport has seen more than one million visitors.
Harib Al Hameli, the airport’s vice-president of operations, said: “We look forward to sustaining our dynamic growth, and to continue providing our passengers with award-winning customer service combined with a high level of efficient and safe operations.”
Doha, London Heathrow and Bangkok were among the most popular routes.
Some people could be planning to take flights to Abu Dhabi to travel on to further destinations, as Etihad has recently announced a string of new destinations as part of a codeshare agreement with Air Berlin.
