New Zealand is a great place for people to visit from the UK as there is so much for them to do there.

More travellers from the UK could be planning to board flights to New Zealand during 2012 as one expert stated it was a great place for people to visit.

Gregg Anderson, general manager of western long-haul markets at Tourism New Zealand, explained that last year there were 230,000 people visiting the country from the UK alone.

He explained that after near neighbours Australia, the UK is the second biggest tourism market for the country.

“In general, I think UK travellers feel safe in New Zealand as it’s relatively small, accessible and a really easy country to travel around,” Mr Anderson said.

He also highlighted that there is no language barrier and the country has a low crime rate, which appeals to many travellers.

Some people could be planning to book flights to New Zealand after the release of The Hobbit movie next year, as ABTA – the travel association recently noted films and TV often influence people’s travel choices.
