Some people could decide to buy a holiday home after spending time in South Africa.

People taking flights to South Africa could be planning to purchase a holiday property in the country, as one expert outlines which areas are currently the most popular among buyers.

Sue McDermott, co-founder of property search and relocation company Spacesa.com, said Hout Bay is one location always in demand.

She explained one attraction is the wide range of different types of property available there, in addition to the town being on the coast.

Property types regularly available include Cape Dutch housing, as well as Tuscan-style homes and even some that have been developed in a Tudor theme.

“If people just want to dip their toe in the water with an apartment and spend less money, there is a place called Sea Point which is a bit nearer to town,” Ms McDermott said.

Travellers who take flights to South Africa could find a wealth of events to enjoy during their trip, with Cape Town set to host its annual jazz festival on March 31st next year.
