Those who want cheap holidays in Thailand will not have to compromise on luxury, it has been claimed.

Brits heading off on a cheap holiday in Thailand will find that no matter how much they have saved, their journey will be rich in luxuries.

This is according to Rhonda Carrier, editor of TakeTheFamily.net, who said that although the day-to-day costs in Thailand are low, high-end accommodation is easily accessible and cheap.

Ms Carrier added that Brits are now increasingly opting for further-flung destinations as they seek “luxury on a budget”.

“Thailand is a prime destination for [this], with amazing staffed villas that can be rented for a song,” the editor advised.

She added that in recent years, resorts, hotels and airlines have shifted their focus towards welcoming families, which may be a bonus for Brits who do opt for long-haul travel.

According to figures released last week by the Adventure Company, family holidays have been among the firm’s best sellers, with bookings since the start of October up by 79 per cent on 2008.
