A rubber duck race will be taking place in Phuket next month to raise money for charity.
People on flights to Phuket who want to see something unique during their stay could try heading along to the city’s annual rubber duck race.
Taking place at the Laguna Phuket’s Latitude marquee, the event on February 5th will be the third time the race has been held, the Phuket News reported.
Each of the 2,000 ducks will be numbered and released into the Dusit Canal, with the first few crossing the finish line winning big prizes for people with the corresponding ticket number.
Hosted by the Phuket Community Foundation, the race will raise funds to be used by the charity in their projects to provide books and motorbikes in deprived areas.
In addition to the race, there will also be a range of children’s activities held and a battle of the bands contest for young musicians.
Visitors taking flights to Phuket could now find it easier to access Coconut Island, as a new pier has recently been opened which links the island to the mainland.
