Parents are encouraging their children to travel by themselves to see new cultures and a holiday to Thailand could be just the thing.

This is according to research carried out by HSBC that found that 35 per cent of parents would encourage their offspring to travel without them.

Some 21 per cent of UK parents said they believed integrating with foreign cultures through travel was “vital” to their children’s education.

“Parents in the UK value travel and learning from other cultures as one of their highest priorities and want their children to travel extensively to study, work or just enjoy themselves,” explained spokesperson from HSBC Wealth Management Brendan Cook.

A holiday in Thailand was named as one of the top pursuits for people looking to explore the world, according to a list compiled by Lostluggagetales.com.

Young people visiting Thailand during July may wish to absorb the sights and sounds of the Phi Ta Khon Festival taking place from the 26th to 28th in Dan Sai.
